MYRTLE SARROSA — The actress-pro-gamer recently shared that she followed her parents’ advice to invest in lands but in an NFT videogame.
From being a cosplayer, streamer, and pro-gamer, the actress took her passion to the next level by investing in an upcoming NFT videogame called “MetaGods”.
Myrtle recently shared her fascination with video games in a short interview with GMA Network.
“Ito talaga yung gusto kong gawin. So, aside from streaming and being an ambassador, I also went into behind the scenes, being an investor,” she said.
Dubbed as the “Queen of NFT”, she shared that her newest investment is a piece of nagging advice from her parents, which is to buy land.
However, she opted to invest in a digital land found in the play-to-earn NFT game. Myrtle went on to say that she used the money that she earned from her tapings in her last projects in order to buy the digital land.
GMA Network then asked her about her parents’ reaction when she acquired the digital land. According to her, her parents were in shock but they understood and saw the success she got from this type of gaming when she explained it to them.
“Naa-amaze din sila sa ginagawa ko talaga, natutuwa sila na parang mayroon palang ganitong world,” she said. “They also saw how I invested into different cryptocurrencies and they were quite supportive naman sa pinaggagagawa ko.“
She admitted that she, like her parents, was also initially skeptical about the idea of buying digital assets in a play-to-earn NFT videogame. However, she, later on, thought many assets would sooner or later be digital.

NFT or non-fungible token is a digital asset that has a unique identity and its ownership is verified via a blockchain. Those NFTs or digital assets can be bought by using cryptocurrency.
Aside from her, other celebrities such as Kris Lawrence, Heart Evangelista, and Manny Pacquiao have released their NFTs as well. On the other hand, Catriona Gray and Pia Wurtzbach were among the iconic beauty queens featured on Miss Universe’s first beauty pageant NFTs.
