According to the report, the athletes and coaches are referring to Thyagraj Stadium which is allegedly closing early than usual to give way for Delhi’s Principal Secretary Sanjeev Khirwar and his dog.

One of the coaches claimed that they used to train until 8:30 p.m. but now they are asked to leave by 7:00 p.m. so that the officer can walk his dog. The said stadium attracts a lot of athletes and coaches for practice and training.

Khirwar denied the accusation that the stadium is closed so he can walk his dog. He admitted that he “sometimes” take his dog for a walk but put down the claims that their activity is disrupting the training of the athletes at the stadium.

The officer stressed that he never leaves his dog on the track at the expense of any athlete. According to him, if his move is “objectionable”, he is willing to stop it.
