Nur Misuari of MNLF supports the BBM-Sara tandem
NUR MISUARI – The founding chairman of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) is supporting the candidacy of former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte.
BBM is running for president in the coming elections together with his runningmate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. They will go against the tandem of; Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong, Senator Manny Pacquiao and Buhay partylist representative, Lito Atienza as well as Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
Their tandem dubbed as the UniTeam has earned the support of famous personalities and groups and adding to the list is no less than MNLF founding chairman, Nur Misuari.
During a gathering with MNLF members and guests in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Misuari announced that he’s backing the tandem of BBM and Sara Duterte.
Misuari is also supporting the senatorial bid of actor Robin Padilla.
In a statement, Atty. Vic Rodriguez, the spokesperson of BBM welcomed the endorsement saying Misuari’s “generous gesture signals that our call for national unity has already taken roots in the hearts, minds, and souls of the vast Filipino populace…”
On the other hand, the presidential daughter said that MNLF’s support is “essential to our cause of bringing about meaningful and lasting peace and development in Mindanao and the rest of the country.”
Aside from MNLF, Iglesia ni Cristo (INC)- a religious group is also backing the BBM-Sara tandem. They recently issued a statement of support to the UniTeam as well as the senatorial candidates they are going to support.
