Gab Valenciano shared what he went through when he was just a young boy
Showbiz personality Gab Valenciano revealed the hurtful comment that he received for being the son of Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano.
The success of Gary V in the entertainment industry is something that many younger artists aspire to achieve. He dominated the concert stage during his prime and did several hit movies and TV shows.
With his star status, it is inevitable for his children to be pressured by outside forces. In a recent interview by comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz, Gab Valenciano revealed that at an early age, he already received bashing for being the son of the one and only Mr. Pure Energy.
He said that even before social media, he has experienced bullying and this was also experienced by his siblings, Kiana and Paolo. “I was six or seven years old, naalala ko ‘to. I was in school or something, pagpasok ko ng room, the first that they said, ‘Ay ang pangit pala ng anak ni Gary V,’” Gab shared.
At that young age, that kind of hurtful comment was instilled in him. He carried this until he reached high school and college. When he went to the states, Gab said that he was thankful that nobody knew about his family background and people would ask him about the thing that he does and not about his dad.
Despite the mean reactions that he received for being the son of Gary Valenciano, Gab Valenciano said that there was no instance that he would hate his father because of this.
“Never akong nagkaroon ng any sense of hatred towards my parents,” he said adding that they were raised with all the love and support that they could ever have.
