Here’s the advice of Sen. Drilon to newly-elected senators

Drilon is serving as the Senate minority leader since 2017. Since 2010, he has been on his second stint in the Senate, first serving from 1995 to 2007. He served thrice as President of the Senate: in 2000, from 2001 to 2006, and from 2013 to 2016.

He also served as Secretary of Labor and Employment, Secretary of Justice, and Executive Secretary in the administration of President Corazon Aquino.

Drilon was born and raised in Iloilo City and studied law at the University of the Philippines. He placed third in the 1969 Bar Exams and worked as a private practice lawyer before joining the government.

It was on May 9 when the general elections took place.

Currently, action star Robin Padilla is leading the senatorial race with more than 26 million votes.

The actor and broadcaster Raffy Tulfo are among the neophytes in the Senate.

In an interview, Sen. Frilon gave a message to the newly-elected senators.

Drilon advises the newly-elected senators to study, listen, and observe when they start working in the Senate. According to him, they should also watch their actions since they are constantly monitored by the public.

Meanwhile, aside from Padilla and Tulfo, among those who entered the Magic 12 in the recent senatorial election are the following; Loren Legarda, Sherwin Gatchalian, Chiz Escudero, Mark Villar, Alan Peter Cayetano, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Joel Villanueva, JV Estrada Ejercito, Risa Hontiveros and Jinggoy Estrada.

The newly elected senators except for Robin Padilla have yet to give any response with regards to the statement of Drilon.
