Here’s the response of Darryl Yap on rumors that he received a P50m talent fee for campaign videos
DARRYL YAP – The renowned director denied that he received a P50M talent fee for LenLen series and other campaign videos.
Yap is considered one of the most popular directors in the country today.
He is behind the hit movies and independent films such as Jowable, Tililing and to name a few.
He’s also one of the staunch supporters of the UniTeam composed of presidential bet Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and vice-presidential aspirant, Sara Duterte-Carpio.
During the campaign, he earned social media attention with his controversial “LenLen” series starring Senator Imee Marcos and Juliana Parizkova Segovia as well as “Jinggoy Cutie” about Jinggoy Estrada.
Imee is the sister of BBM while Jinggoy is an ally of the Marcoses.
The “LenLen” series has 10 episodes that garnered views between 256,000 to 542,000.
While the “Jinggoy Cutie” gained over 23,000 views.
Rumor has it that he received a P50 million talent fee from making such campaign videos.
But in an interview, he denied that he received such a whopping amount.
According to Yap, every content and contract he has is being decided by Boss Vic Del Rosario of Viva Entertainment.
Although he denied earning P50 million from making campaign videos, he did not disclose how much is his talent fee.
Yap admitted that the strong public influence of social media is the reason why many of those who ran for national posts invested in online campaigns.
It has become an alternative to the traditional advertisement used when there was an election.
