After the second take, a 68-year-old mom from Cainta finally passed the BAR exam
MARIA MERLIE VITTO SOBERANO-SELDA – A 68-year-old mom from Cainta passed the BAR after taking the exam for the second time.
Merlie was among those who passed the 2020-2021 Bar Exam which results were released by the Supreme Court last April 12, 2022.
Loren Solas, the daughter of Merlie, sent a video to GMA News about how her mom reacted after learning that she passed the BAR exam.
In the video, the new lawyer is obviously nervous as she searches for her name on the list of passes.
Eventually, Merlie’s eyes twinkled as she shout “Yes!” while raising a hand as a sign of victory upon seeing her name.
She also became emotional and burst into tears.
According to Loren, this is the second time her mom takes a bar exam.
Merlie started studying law in 2012.
Loren also shared that before her mom Merlie become a lawyer, she was Top 9 in the chemistry board exam in 1978.
She first took the bar exam in 2018 but unfortunately, she did not pass the exam for lawyers.
Loren shared that it was not easy for her mom to take a bar exam again because last year, she was hit by COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Loren is also taking law.
Merlie’s story was among the Bar exam stories that went viral on social media.
Previously, a former TNT in Japan could not contain his happiness after his son passed the said exam.
