Taxi Driver Victim Brings 2 Holdup Suspects to Patrolling Cops
Two holdup suspects have been arrested after the taxi driver victim brought them to patrolling police officers.
A CCTV camera in Tondo, Manila caught the taxi slowly driving along the road where patrolling police officers have been spotted. The taxi driver quickly opened the vehicle’s door and asked the cops from help.
The roaming policemen immediately responded and pointed their gun to the suspects inside the taxi. The holdup suspects pretended as passengers to perform the crime, according to the driver.
The taxi driver identified as Jessie Mejulio narrated that he picked up the passengers along Monumento Caloocan who were heading to Buendia in Pasay. The suspects declared a hold up at Abad Santos.
“Nag-declare sila, tinanong muna nila ako kung may panukli ako sa isang libo, sabi ko mga P500 pa lang yung pera ko diyan kasi pangatlong pasahero ko pa lang kayo nalaman na nila na may panukli ako, pinakanan na nila ako, tinutukan ako ng baril,”Mejulio said.
Majulio counter-flowed at a one-way street to catch the attention of the police authorities. Luckily, there is a police desk at the area with cops on-duty during that time. He immediately sought help from the policemen.
The police authorities recovered 9mm firearm, fake gun and fake P1, 000 bill from the suspects. The holduppers have been identified as Ryan Medina and Glenn Mark Ibasco. The culprits explained that poverty pushed them to commit the crime.
However, the cops did not believe the statements of the suspects. The two have also apologized for their wrongdoings but the victim did not accept it. Jessie will file charges against the suspects.
Medina and Ibasco will face charges of robbery and violation of election gun ban. They would also face additional charges for possessing counterfeit money.
