A python that is 15 feet long was caught in Batangas
BATANGAS – A python that is 15 feet long and weighs nearly 35 kilos was found in the ceiling of a house in the city.
It was on February 28, 2022, when construction workers found it in a house they were repairing.
Charlon Gutierrez, the Barangay Chairman of Poblacion 10 said he and the village watchmen responded to a house after receiving a report about a huge python.
He also sought help from the Batangas Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO).
According to the construction workers, they were surprised when the trees fell from the ceiling. They also heard something moving inside.
They shouted when a large python suddenly appeared from the ceiling.
With the help of ENRO Batangas staff, they were able to catch and remove the large python from the ceiling, which they said was very long and very heavy.
When they peeked inside the ceiling to see if there were other pythons, it was discovered that there were cat skeletons, which the python had possibly eaten while staying there.
According to ENRO Batangas, it is good that the python was caught immediately. It is said that because of its excessive size, it can swallow humans. That is why it is so dangerous for those who live in the house.
The python named “Barrion”- from the family name of the homeowner- was temporarily brought to DENR Lipa City.
This is not the first time that such an incident happened.
A few weeks ago, a large snake which might be a python was found hanging at a billboard in Butuan City.
