Samsung Announces New Hardware Lineup At “Galaxy Unpacked February 2022” Launch Event

Here’s everything Samsung announced at the “Galaxy Unpacked February 2022” launch event.

SAMSUNG — The South Korean tech giant officially announced its new hardware lineup during its “Galaxy Unpacked February 2022” launch event held last February 9.

Here’s what the company announced during the event:

Sansung Galaxy S22 Series

During the launch event, the tech giant officially introduced a new lineup of Galaxy S22 series smartphones: the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

According to the company, Galaxy S22 and S22+ were the two flagship devices that “power creativity and self-expression”.

TM Roh, the President and Head of Samsung Electronics’ MX (Mobile eXperience) Business, said that the company focused on designing their latest S series devices with groundbreaking camera capabilities that can “work day and night” and also powered by their “best mobile performance yet”.

Galaxy S22 and S22+ have similar features in terms of display, security, cameras, sensors, and network & connectivity.

Both smartphones have a 120Hz refresh rate, dynamic AMOLED 2X display, triple-rear camera setup (12MP Ultra-Wide Camera + 50MP Wide Camera + 10MP Telephoto Camera), 10MP front camera, and IP68.

To differentiate, Galaxy S22 has a 6.1-inch FHD+ display while Galaxy S22+ has a 6.6-inch FHD+ display.

On the other hand, the company said that the Galaxy S22 Ultra reimagined the mobile experience by merging the best Galaxy features of the S and Note series.

This smartphone has a 6.8-inch Edge QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate, quad-camera setup (12MP Ultra-Wide Camera + 108 MP Wide Camera + 10MP Telephoto Camera + 10MP Telephoto Camera + 100X Space Zoom), 40MP front camera, up to 12GB internal memory, up to 1TB internal storage, and 5,000mAh battery capacity.

According to Samsung, by teaming up with leading organizations, the company helped recover discarded fishing nets and transformed them into high-performance materials for their smartphones.

This material — used in the Galaxy S22 series’ component, key bracket — contains 20% recycled ocean-bound plastic from discarded fishing nets,” Samsung said. “We use 100% recycled paper for the Galaxy S22’s packaging and include a protective film made from recycled plastic.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Series

The compay said that the Galaxy Tab S8 series offered customers the “freedom and flexibility” they deserved to “work and play anywhere like never before”.

Each Galaxy Tab S8 offered an improved video conferencing experience with a three-microphone setup, ultra-wide front cameras, and intelligent auto-framing technology.

According to TM Roh, they built on years of innovation in mobile experiences in order to refine the Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets and to also push the boundaries of what’s possible on a tablet with its first Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.
