It was on February 21, 2020, when the couple got engaged.

It took place at Vice’s house, witnessed by their friends.

During the live episode of It’s Showtime, Ion shared how he planned his marriage proposal to Vice.

According to him, it was his co-hosts Jugs Jugueta and Teddy Corpuz who helped him with his plan to ask Vice’s hand in marriage.

The original plan was that he was going to propose at the studio of It’s Showtime. However, he was not given permission.

“Kung alam niyo lang yung lang yung pain nung nakita namin dati si Ion pinagbawalan… Ta’s nakita ko si Ion nakahiga dun… ‘Uy, anong problema?’ ‘Hindi pumayag.’ Excited kaming tatlo, e,” Teddy recalled.

Apparently, it was not clear why the management of It’s Showtime did not allow him to held his proposal at the studio.

Then, Ion decided to pull the proposal at Vice’s house.

Vice Ganda, on the other hand, shared how he reacted to the surprised proposal of Ion.

At the time, the comedian barely fixed himself when all of a sudden, Ion approached him, knelt in front of him, and offered the ring.

Vice and Ion did not disclose their engagement except to their selected friends. That’s why most of the It’s Showtime hosts as well as the big bosses of ABS-CBN don’t know anything about it.

They got married in Las Vegas on October 19, 2021, or six days before their second anniversary.
