Carnapping? Wife of Terrence Romeo apprehended alongside female accomplice
BEATRICE PIA WHITE – The wife of PBA player Terrence Romeo was arrested by the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) for technical carnapping.
White, 37, was apprehended for “technical carnapping,” estafa and using a false name. Her accomplice was identified as Efcel Reyes.
They were arrested on Saturday, January 8 at exactly 11:30 p.m.
Police Lt.Col. Christian dela Cruz of HPG public information office said: “Bale nag-rent sila ng Mitsubishi Mirage… 2019 model. Ni-rent nila for P10,000 pero hindi na nila naibalik.”
The two are currently being detained at the Special Operations Division while the investigation is ongoing.
The wife of Terrence Romeo is facing violations of Article 178 (Using fictitious name and concealing true name) and 294 (Robbery with violence against or intimidation of persons) of the Revised Penal Code, and Section 4 of Republic Act 10883 (Concealment of carnapping).
Terrence Romeo has yet to make any statement with regards to the arrest of his wife.
Meanwhile, Terrence Romeo has been regarded as one of the most popular basketball players in the country. Presently, he plays for the San Miguel Beermen of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) as the point guard and shooting guard.
Prior to his PBA career, he was once a point guard for the Far Eastern University. He was also named as UAAP Rookie of the Year in 2010 and 2013 UAAP men’s basketball Most Valuable Player.
It was in 2013 when he drafted for PBA via Barako Bull.
