How the life of Reymark Mariano has changed after KMJS
REYMARK MARIANO – The young farmer captured the heart of netizens after he was featured on KMJS.
It was just last year when “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” featured the heartbreaking story of a young kid named Reymark Mariano, who used to plow about a two-hectare farm to feed his family. His story goes viral online after it was posted on social media.
Reymark is living with his grandparents Rudy and Nerissa who could not work anymore because of their illnesses and old age. He is the one working for their family, so they could buy food.
After the story of Reymark goes viral, a lot of kind-hearted netizens have donated some amount to help the young boy. He received school supplies, groceries, organic fertilizer, assorted fruit trees, vegetable seeds, and livestock as well as some cash.
Meanwhile, the young farmer was featured anew in the latest episode of the magazine show, this time showing how his life changed so far after KMJS.
Reymak is now studying. He also opened a bank account to secure his money.
“Every month po may nagpapadala po sa akin ng mga kailangan po sa pag-aaral po,” he said. “Marunong na po ako ng kaunti ng English, magbasa.”
Because of the huge amount of money they received thanks to the generous people who extended their help, they were able to build a house for his family.
Reymark does not work on the farm anymore. He’s also proud to share that he can now buy things he wants.
The young farmer also thanked KMJS especially Jessica Soho for featuring his story which generally changed his life.
Aside from helping him financially, KMJS also paved the way for his family to be reunited.
