Son, Driver, House Helper of Sen. Ping Lacson Confirmed COVID-19 Positive
PING LACSON – One of the sons of the Senator, his driver, and a helper in his household tested positive for COVID-19.
Several cities in Metro Manila recorded higher daily cases of COVID-19 prompting the government to place the capital region under Alert Level 3. Stricter restrictions are now up once again.
The mayors in Metro Manila share the same ground of temporarily limiting the movements of the unvaccinated residents. The government continues to encourage the people to get their jabs for defense against the virus.
Recently, several known personalities in the different fields contracted COVID-19. There are also family members of known individuals who got infected with the virus.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, one of the sons of Sen. Ping Lacon tested positive for COVID-19. His driver and his household helper also tested positive for coronavirus.
Sen. Ping Lacson already underwent a COVID-19 test last January 4. He also took another swab test on Thursday while the result of his first COVID-19 test has yet to be released.
Recently, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian was confirmed positive for COVID-19. He is the first senator to have contracted the virus this year 2022. He is currently in isolation away from his family.
According to the Senator, he is only exhibiting mild symptoms and he credits it to the protection that the vaccine gave his body. He assured that he will back to work soon.
Prior to Sen. Gatchalian announcing the result of his COVID-19 test, his brother, Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian also tested positive for the virus. He is under quarantine now.
The government continues to encourage the Filipinos to get vaccinated against the COVID-19. There is a new threat now – the Omicron variant that was reported to be a “heavily mutated” variant of the virus.
