Sen. Manny Pacquiao Speaks on “Congress Absences” Issue

MANNY PACQUIAO – The boxer-turned-Senator revealed the reason behind his absences during the Congress sessions when he was congressman.

One of the presidential aspirants in the Election 2022 is Sen. Manny Pacquiao. He is the standard-bearer of PROMDI party and his running-mate is Representative Lito Atienza, the party’s vice-presidential bet.

Sen. Pacquiao is vocal of wanting to help more Filipinos that is why he is running for president in the next election. According to him, he is already helping his fellow Filipinos but his money is limited and he could extend more assistance with the budget of the government.

It is no secret to the public that prior to the filing of candidacy period, Sen. Pacquiao who’s also a member of the ruling party PDP-Laban had a conflict with some of the party members. It resulted to an internal faction dividing the party into two (2).

Despite the issues, Sen. Pacquiao showed determination in taking the presidential race. He is one of the 10 candidates for president that remain in the official ballot for Election 2022.

One of the criticisms thrown against Sen. Manny Pacquiao was his absences when he was in the Congress. He clarified the issue and revealed the reason behind his absences.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Pacquiao admitted that he lost interest in attending the Congress sessions because a privilege speech of a congressman takes several hours. According to him, what he did instead was stayed in his province and focused on the building of the “Pacman Village”.

Sen. Pacquiao who is gunning for the presidency in the Election 2022 said that one of his priorities if he wins in the next poll is the increase on the salary of public and private nurses and the salary standardization of workers.

According to the PROMDI standard-bearer, the businessmen and employers must not worry because it is the government that will adjust and not the people.
