Isko Moreno on Manny Pacquiao: “May God bless you!”
ISKO MORENO — On Friday, the presidential candidate and incumbent Manila mayor brushed off Senator Manny Pacquiao’s remark saying that voters shouldn’t vote for him because of “corruption issues”.
However, he hailed the senator for bringing honor to the Philippines as a former world boxing champion.
To recall, Pacquiao was asked during the “political fast talk” segment of “The 2022 Presidential One-On-One Interviews with Boy Abunda” aired last Friday to give reasons as to why voters shouldn’t vote for his rivals in the presidential race.
“May corruption issue,” Pacquiao said on Moreno.
When asked the same question about presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., the senator said that he has corruption issues as well.

Pacquiao retired from boxing in September last year.
“Hindi natin makakalimutan ang karangalan na binigay sa ating bansa ni Sen. Manny Pacquiao sa mundo ng boksing,” Moreno told GMA News Online. “Maraming Salamat sa dangal na binigay ninyo sa mundo ng boxing. May God bless you!”
In an earlier interview with Boy Abunda, the Manila mayor was also asked why voters shouldn’t vote for Pacquiao, who is also running for president in the 2022 elections.
“Mabait naman, okay naman,” Moreno said on Pacquiao.
According to Moreno, he deserved the Filipino vote because he will be a chief executive who will not be vindictive and will act fast.
Meanwhile, Moreno said that he will allow the International Criminal Court (ICC) to come to the country and investigate the drug war of the Duterte administration.
The Manila mayor even expressed that they’re “welcome” in the Philippines because there’s nothing to hide and the justice system in the country is effective and working.
