Multi-awarded actress Gina Alajar recalls confronting a director
GINA ALAJAR – The veteran actress recalled confronting a director.
During the mediacon of Prima Donnas Book 2, the award-winning star shared one of the most unforgettable experiences in the first years of her acting career.
According to her, there was a time she was scolded by a director despite the fact she did not do anything wrong.
She narrated that she had a shooting schedule at the time. She waited from daytime until midnight, however, she never had it.
Unfortunately, she later had a fever.
Instead of understanding the situation, the director became irate. This prompted Gina’s father to take her out.
“Nagalit yung director, ‘Sige! Iuwi mo na!’ Basta nagalit siya dahil nilagnat ako,” she recalled.
When Gina Alajar got older, she was able to work with that director again.
She said she did not miss the opportunity to confront the director who became angry with her when she was young.
“Talagang I had the guts to tell him, ‘You know, you did this to me when I was young. He said sorry naman,” she said.
Gina did not name who that director was, especially since the latter had passed away.
Meanwhile, Gina Alajar, whose real name is Regina Alatiit, is considered one of the notable actors in the country.
She started her acting career in the early 1970s. She was mostly seen in television soap operas on GMA as well as ABS-CBN. In the year 2000, she ventured into directorial work including dramas for GMA Network.
