Former Matinee Idol Romano Vasquez Passes Away at 51

Former member of That’s Entertainment dies

ROMANO VASQUEZ – The former matinee idol passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at the age of 51.

Alma Panuelo Dila, his wife, confirmed his passing.

The actor whose real name is Romanito Romano Anacan Dila was born on October 31, 1970.

He rose to fame after being part of That’s Entertainment, the former youth-oriented show of German Moreno that aired on GMA-7.

He became an actor in movies and television as well as a singer-entertainer. He was once a talent of veteran director, Maryo J. de los Reyes.

Romano became open to the public about his career and personal life.

In fact, his love story with Alma was featured in Wagas of GMA News TV a few years ago.

Among the movies he’s a part of are the following; Noel Juico, 16: Batang Kriminal (1991),, Dark Tide (1994), Epimaco Velasco: NBI (1994), Mariano Mison: NBI (1997), The Secret Of Katrina Salazar (1997), Alipin Ng Aliw (1998), Hiram (2003), Night Job (2005), Astig (2009), Mainit (2011), and Pikit-Mata (2012).

He also starred in several television shows and has performed in and out of the country as a singer.

Meanwhile, the family of Romano Vasquez pleaded to respect their grief and they also asked for prayers for the soul of the late actor.

Aside from his wife, he survived his four other kids namely; Angelie Kate, 22 ; Albert, 16 ; Sky, 15 ; and Raven, 8 years old.

His remains lie at the Imperial Crown Funeral Service (formerly) Herald Funeral Services), located in Purok 6 Brgy. De Ocampo, Trece Martires City, Cavite.
