American Airlines Flight Makes U-Turn Over Atlantic Due to Disobedient Passenger
The American Airlines flight had to make a U-turn over Atlantic after one passenger refused to wear a face mask.
Earlier this week, an American Airlines flight from Miami to London carrying 129 passengers and 14 crew members on board had to make a U-turn because of a disobedient passenger inside the plane.
Flight 38 departed from the Miami International Airport just before 8:00 pm on Wednesday (January 21, 2022). The flight is heading to London’s Heathrow for about nine hours.
Unfortunately, an hour after the flight taken off, one passenger allegedly refused to obey the health safety protocols being implemented inside the plane. The lady passenger refused to wear a face mask.
The flight had to make a U-Turn due to disobedient passenger around approximately 500 miles into its 4, 000-mile journey. The police officers also met the plane after gate arrival.
The management told the London-bound passengers that the flight was canceled. American Airlines has issued an apology due to the incident. The airline also instructed the passengers to rebook their ticket.
“American Airlines Flight 38 … returned to MIA due to disruptive customer refusing to comply with the federal mask requirement. The flight landed at MIA where local law enforcement met the aircraft. We thank our crew for their professionalism and apologize to our customers for the inconvenience,” the airline said.
Meanwhile, the lady passenger who refused to obey the health protocols has not been arrested but placed under American’s internal no-fly list.
