When asked about the “reformulation” of the said policy, DOTr Assistant Secretary Goddes Hope Libiran told Inquirer that it will be released “this week”.

The “no vaccine, no ride” policy, which was implemented in Metro Manila since January 17, restricted unvaccinated commuters from using public transport, but exempted workers and travelers who have medical conditions that prevent them from being vaccinated.

Under the said policy, unvaxxed individuals may use public transport if they’re out to buy essential services and goods. The said policy in Metro Manila will remain in effect under alert level 3.

Meanwhile, the DOTr has reiterated its position on the legality of its “no vaccination, no ride” policy following concerns raised by the IBP (Integrated Bar of the Philippines).

The DOTr said in a statement that the said policy was “legally valid” as it noted that it has the authority to issue the same under pertinent laws and regulations.
