Update on Bacolod City COVID-19 Cases amid Spike in PH

BACOLOD CITY COVID-19 CASES – Dr. Chris Sorongon said that the coronavirus cases in the city continue to increase and many healthcare workers were infected.

The Philippines is facing another surge of COVID-19 cases. Currently, the whole of Metro Manila is under Alert Level 3 and stricter measures like curfew are up in several cities.

Metro Manila remains under Alert Level 3 until the end of the month. Previously, the Palace and the Department of Health (DOH) affirmed that there is a possibility that the measure will escalate to Alert Level 4 if the cases continue to increase.

Outside Metro Manila, several cities with high cases of COVID-19 are also under Alert Level 3. The provinces of Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, and Northern Samar are under Alert Level 4 until the end of the month.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Bacolod City COVID-19 cases are also increasing and several healthcare workers were infected by the coronavirus disease amid the surge.

According to the report, Bacolod Emergency Operations Center Dr. Chris Sorongon said that the city has logged 206 cases of COVID-19. The health official stressed that almost all cases are asymptomatic and mild.

Sorongon stressed that most of the patients are either in isolation facilities or under home quarantine. Amid the increasing Bacolod City COVID-19 cases, the authorities are monitoring the hospital capacity utilization rate because there are health workers that were infected by a coronavirus.

The health official expressed that the hospital capacity utilization rate is currently at 44% but they are keeping an eye on the Corazon Locsin Regional Hospital because many of their staff tested positive for COVID-19. In the city, over 60 healthcare workers have been infected by the virus.

Sorongon stressed that they continue to strengthen their surveillance testing and contact tracing in the city. More updates may be posted soon.
