GMA Network issues official statement on medical leave of Mike Enriquez
MIKE ENRIQUEZ – GMA Network confirmed that the TV host and news anchor has filed a medical leave of absence.
Mike is considered one of the popular broadcasters in the country.
He started his career in broadcasting as a staff announcer at the Manila Broadcasting Company in 1969.
Presently, he is the Consultant for radio operations of GMA Network, and president of the network’s regional and radio subsidiary, RGMA Network Inc., and the Station Manager of Super Radyo DZBB 594 AM.
He’s also a mainstay of GMA’s newest primetime newscast “24 Oras.”
However, his home network earlier confirmed that the TV host and news anchor has filed for his medical leave of absence.
In an official statement, the Kapuso Network announced that the anchor of “24 Oras” and host of “Imbestigador” will undergo a medical procedure so he will have to say goodbye temporarily.

Mike Enriquez is expected to return to GMA in time for the network’s coverage of 2022 elections.
To recall, it was in 2018 he also took medical leave for the preparation of his heart bypass surgery. At the same time, he also admitted that he’s being treated for kidney disease.
Throughout his career as a news anchor, he would cover numerous news events.
He also earned numerous awards and citations including the most child-friendly personalities by the Southeast Asian Foundation for Children and thrice consecutively by the Anak TV Seal awards.
