Mel Tiangco & Mike Enriquez’s Comeback to 24 Oras Goes Trending on Social Media

MEL TIANGCO – The female GMA-7 news anchor and her fellow news anchor, Mike Enriquez, trended on social media following their return to 24 Oras.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected a lot. In the Philippines, community quarantine measures are implemented to prevent the spread of the disease.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), 18,997 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the country. Out of the total number, 966 died while 4,063 patients have recovered.

The high risk areas are under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ) now while most parts of the country are under a modified GCQ. The people are advised to only go out for essential purposes.

Following the loosening of the quarantine measures, many people are now back to work including 24 Oras news anchors Mel Tiangco and Mike Enriquez.

Based on an article on Pep, Mel is 64 years old while Mike is 68 years old thus they had to temporarily stop working due to the enforced quarantine.

Mel and Mike were temporarily replaced by Atom Araullo and Jessica Soho in GMA-7‘s 24 Oras starting April until May 29. They worked with Vicky Morales.

Recently, Mel Tiangco and Mike Enriquez trended in social media. It is due to their comeback to 24 Oras and many people are visibly happy that the two (2) news anchors are back.

According to the report, Mike is also back in DZBB, a morning news program. The Kapuso anchor is widely known for his “Excuse me po” which many people possibly miss as well.

Vicky is also very happy to be working with Mel and Mike again. Aside from the two (2) news anchors returning to work, the late-night program hosted by Arnold Clavio and Piua Arcangel, Saksi, is also back in airing.
