Female Lawyer Goes Viral After Giving Message to People Telling Her To Buy New Car

A female lawyer gives a message to the people who kept telling her “Atty. Bumili ka ng sasakyan mo” for commuting on tricycle.

A Facebook user named Kathrine Jessica Calano has shared her another random realization after people kept on telling her to buy her own vehicle. The post immediately circulates online and earned different comments from the netizens.

Calano revealed that a lot of people kept on telling her to buy her own car because she can afford it due to her line of work.  However, the young would only respond with a smile every time she hears those lines.

Kathrine explained that her dad would drop her off in the office every morning and she is already used to commute on her way home. She doesn’t need to prove her professional capacity with her properties.

The female lawyer said that she might consider purchasing a car if she is told to get one for her safety and convenience. She expressed her dismay towards people telling her to buy a car to look like a lawyer.

Jessica is sick of hearing criticisms and judgment from people surrounding her without knowing her story. She has her own priorities and responsibilities and purchasing a new car is not one of them right now.

Another random realization.

A lot of people would usually tell me “Atty, bumili ka na ng sasakyan mo. I would respond with a polite smile. All I could do is to politely smile because if I would respond honestly, I would only come out rude especially when I would point out that being a lawyer doesn’t mean that I should look rich or I should be rich for that matter. Plus, my dad would drop me off in the office every morning so a tricycle commute ride home is no big deal.

Let me tell you this: you don’t have to prove your professional capacity with the properties you own. I would understand if I am told to consider buying a car for convenience or for safety and security more so if hearings are outside the City. But if I am told to buy one to look like a lawyer? Bro, pass! I don’t need to stage my life just so I can justify my profession.

Minsan kasi, we are too judgy no?

Reality is, we quantify one’s intellect and skills with the properties and material things he owns. Ang sad no? What we don’t realize is that we have our own priorities, our own timelines. One lawyer or any professional who is only practicing for a year could buy a car or a house in a snap because maybe, that is his priority. While another who is practicing for five years couldn’t buy one because his priority is to save for the education of his siblings, for the medication of an ailing parent, for preparation of marriage, or for charity-who knows? Regardless of priorities and of properties, we should stop equating intellect and skills with wealth.

Is it lack of ambition? Yes if you are lazy. No if you have other necessary priorities.

What’s my point? Wala. Bahala na kayong gumets. Let me just enjoy my tricycle ride and my coke float in peace.

SALUDO AKO SAYO Atty ….
