The actor-turned-politician will run for the highest government position in the coming elections.

He will go against presidential aspirants such as; Vice President Leni Robredo, former Senator Bongbong Marcos, Senators Manny Pacquiao, Ping Lacson, and Bong Go.

When asked for a comment on criticisms that he has a tendency to eventually have political rifts with former allies, he said: “Hindi nila ako ginabayan. Kinuha nila ako [sa partido nila].”

Although he did not mention any name, he’s clearly referring to former Manila Mayors Alfredo Lim and Lito Atienza.

“Wala akong utang na loob sa kanila. Ang utang na loob ko sa taumbayan,” he said.

It was in the year 1998 when Franciso “Isko Moreno” Domagoso entered the world of politics as a councilor under the slate of Atienza.

However, after his 3 consecutive terms, he left the party of Atienza and ran for vice mayor under the Asenso Manileño with his running mate Danila Lacuna- whom he referred to as his “true mentor” in politics.

“‘Yan ang tunay kong mentor na hanggang ngayon kasama ko pa rin,” he said.

In 2007, Lacuna bout with Lim in the mayoral race.

Lacuna lost to Lim and in 2010, Isko Moreno ran for vice mayor under the latter’s slate

However, two years after they won the polls, then vice mayor Domagoso along with 28 councilors filed grave threats complaint against Lim.

Eventually, Isko Moreno decided to run for vice mayor with former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada.

However, the two also had a falling out and Domagoso who later run for mayor defeated Estrada in the 2019 mayoralty election.
