Dela Rosa: “Ayaw kong bigyan ng sama ng loob si Pangulong Duterte”
BATO DELA ROSA — Here’s what the incumbent senator said about Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s decision to run for a national position.
Cusi-led PDP-Laban standard-bearer Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa reiterated on Thursday that he’s willing to give way in case Mayor Sara decided to run for president in the 2022 elections.
“Ayaw kong bigyan ng sama ng loob si Pangulong Duterte na mayroon siyang susuportahan na standard bearer na partido niya tapos at the same time, ‘yong anak niya kalaban. Kawawa naman ‘yong matanda,” he said in a report on GMA Network’s “24 Oras”.
Earlier, the senator expressed willingness to be substituted by Mayor Sara.

Mayor Sara has recently resigned from Hugpong Ng Pagbabago (HNP) and was sworn in as a member of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD).
The incumbent Davao City mayor took her oath before party president House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez and party chairman Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr.
According to Revilla, Lakas-CMD was more than honored that Mayor Sara chose to become a member of the party.
Under the COMELEC’s calendar of activities for the 2022 elections, a substitution for a candidate in a national or local position can be filed from the end of the COC filing period until November 15, 2021.
Meanwhile, presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was asked what if Mayor Sara decided to run for the top post.
“Then she runs,” Bongbong said. “Examine my situation, I have nowhere else to go. I cannot go anywhere. I will not change parties. I entered this race not to play any of this substitution.”
