CRISTY FERMIN – The veteran showbiz columnist criticized Senator Manny Pacquiao for “throwing” money during his visit to different parts of the country.
Earlier, the presidential aspirant went to Batangas to fulfill his promise to Batangueños where he handed relief goods and cash.
Apparently, some criticized him claiming that what he did was a form of vote-buying.
Vote-buying occurs when a political party or candidate seeks to buy the vote of a voter in an upcoming election. It can take various forms such as a monetary exchange, as well as an exchange for necessary goods or services.
But he denied such an accusation, saying he has been distributing money to those in need since 2002.
He said that those who accuse him of vote-buying are only jealous of his distribution of money to Filipinos.
Among those criticizing him is no less than entertainment columnist, Cristy Fermin.
In an episode of her program, Cristy Fer Minute, she couldn’t help but lambast the athlete-turned-politician over his way of giving cash aid to the people in need.
