Currently, the National Capital Region (NCR) is under localized lockdowns. The Department of Health (DOH) previously expressed that widespread lockdowns may no longer be effective in Metro Manila as people have to go out to work.

Under the localized or granular lockdowns, the alert level system is implemented based on the cases of a certain city. Thus, cities may vary on what is observed depending on the situation.

When it comes to curfew hours, local governments currently observe 12 midnight to 4:00 a.m. curfew hours but it is set to be adjusted soon. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Metro Manila mayors have agreed to adjust it to 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

Despite the easing of the curfew hours, authorities continue to remind the public to observe the proper health protocols to fight the spread of COVID-19. The wearing of mask and the practice of social distancing remain to be among those that must be observed.

Reportedly, the decision to adjust the curfew hours came after DOH reported a drop in the COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila. Currently, the vaccination program continues to roll out and has been opened to wider recipients.
