The Kapamilya weatherman is currently making rounds online over his purported transfer to Kapuso Network.

It can be recalled that during the franchise battle of ABS-CBN, he was one of the Kapamilya celebrities who pronounced that he would be standing still with his home network until the end. That’s why many were shocked following reports of his network transfer.

Among those who earlier gave a statement, lambasting Kuya Kim is no less than entertainment columnist Cristy Fermin.

“Kung lilipat na siya sa GMA, paano na ‘yung binitiwan niya noon na hanggang sa huli n’yang hininga mananatili siya sa ABS-CBN?” she asked.

Cristy Fermin then stressed: “Kaya kapag hindi kayang panindigan, ‘wag magsalita.”

According to an article by Bandera, Kuya Kim has already expected that he will receive backlash following his decision.

Meanwhile, Kapamilya stars including It’s Showtime hosts Vhong Navarro, Amy Perez, and Jugs Jugueta have expressed their support for the new chapter in Kuya Kim’s career.

The ABS-CBN weatherman has yet to make an official statement regarding his rumored transfer to GMA-7.

But on Wednesday, September 29, he was spotted at GMA-7 and said to have started taping of his newest program there.

Kim Atienza or Kuya Kim whose real name is Alejandro Ilagan Atienza is currently a resident weather anchor in ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol’s segment, “Weather-Weather Lang”.

He is the eldest son of former Mayor of Manila and Buhay Party-List Representative Lito Atienza.

It was in 2008 when he started hosting Matanglawin. In 2009, he left the morning show, Umagang Kay Ganda to host the noontime program, It’s Showtime.
