The DOH said that it will have to monitor the trend of coronavirus cases in the country before it would come up with a decision to allow the conduct of parties in time for Christmas in December.

For now, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that they can’t say that they’re certain that they’ll be allowing those parties by December.

According to Vergeire, coronavirus transmission can happen in such activities.

She added that they have to closely monitor if the downward trend of coronavirus cases will continue.

So, ayun pa rin ang ating pinapaalala sa ating mga kababayan. Itong mga parties na ito siguro tignan natin kung talagang mag tutuloy-tuloy ang pagbaba ng ating mga kaso and slowly we can be able to go back to the usual things that we do,” Vergeire said.

The Department of Health reported 7,625 new coronavirus cases on Friday, pushing the total number of the country’s running tally of coronavirus cases to 2,705,792 wherein 78,999 remained as active cases, 2,589,386 recoveries, while 40,424 deaths.

Since October 13, the daily number of new cases in the country has been below 8,000.

Meanwhile, the DOH appealed to moviegoers in Metro Manila to wear face shields and face masks when going to cinemas.

This, as the government’s pandemic task force had lowered the community quarantine alert in NCR to Level 3, allowing establishments such as cinemas to operate at 30 percent indoor venue capacity only for fully vaccinated individuals and 50 percent outdoor venue capacity for 2 weeks starting October 16.
