Apple recently announced updated HomePod minis in three new color variants: blue, yellow, and orange. 9to5Mac reported that Apple will continue to offer the existing space gray and white color variants as well.

These HomePods were priced at the same USD 99 and will be available next month. Apple’s new HomePod minis were functionally the same as last year’s but they have new color LEDs on the top.

Apple officially revealed the third generation of its wireless earbuds as AirPods 3 featured a new design based on AirPods Pro but with a universal fit and Spatial Audio support. It can also support the MagSafe charger and Find My network.

AirPods 3 was priced at USD 179 and will be available on October 26.

M1 Pro and M1 Max chips

Apple officially revealed the next-generation Apple Silicon chip. According to the company, the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips were created for the next-generation MacBook Pro by scaling up the M1 chip’s architecture in order to create a “far more powerful chip”.

The M1 Pro chip has 200GB/s memory bandwidth, up to 10-core CPU, 2x more transistors than the M1 chip, up to 32GB of unified memory, 70 percent faster than the M1 chip, up to 16-core GPU, and can support up to 2 external displays.

On the other hand, the M1 Max chip has 400GB/s memory bandwidth, up to 64GB of unified memory, 32-core GPU, 57 billion transistors, up to 70 percent less power consumption, and can support up to 4 external displays.

Both chips have Neural Engine, Thunderbolt 4, and ProRes as well.

14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro

The company officially launched its new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro.

Apple’s new MacBook Pro featured the “M1 Pro” chip, with 8 high-performance cores and 2 high-efficiency cores, a 16-core GPU, and 32 GB RAM. There’s also an “M1 Max” chip that doubled GPU and RAM again.

9to5Mac reported that the 14-inch MacBook Pro has a starting price of USD 1,999 and the 16-inch MacBook Pro has a starting price of USD 2,499.

Other announcements

Aside from new hardware unveiled during the event, the company also announced new plans and software updates.

Recently, the company announced a new more accessible plan for Apple Music exclusively with Siri.

Voice Plan

With Apple’s new “Voice Plan”, users will rely on Siri to listen to songs on the service. Subscribers will have access to tens of thousands of playlists, millions of songs, and stations on all their Apple devices for USD 4.99 a month.

Meanwhile, 9to5Mac reported that Apple’s macOS Monterey will arrive on October 25 this year.
