During the BISErbisyong LENI on DZXL, the Vice President said that the military was there in order to help not only during elections but all the time when maintaining peace and order was necessary.

Ever since, ‘yung militar laging andyan para tumulong na hindi lang during the elections pero sa lahat ng oras na kinakailangan sila para ma-maintain ‘yung peace and order, nandyan sila,” Robredo said.

Claiming that the President wanted a peaceful election, President Duterte warned last Friday that if needed, military force would be used in order to ensure that the 2022 elections are peaceful, free, and fair. However, this didn’t sit well with the Vice President.

According to her, she didn’t know why the tone seemed like the military was being used to threaten people, adding that the military was also used to threaten people during the pandemic.

The Vice President also said that the public shouldn’t fear the military as they were professionals and an ally.

Kasi ‘yung militar, over the years, mga professionals ito. Mga professionals ito na over the years sinuman ‘yung pangulo basta kinakailangan ‘yung tulong nila, lagi sila andyan.

Robredo’s statement came after the President warned that military force would be used in order to ensure a peaceful 2022 election in the country.

The President also vowed to put in place measures in the remaining of his term to ensure that eligible voters in the country were able to participate in the 2022 elections and that all votes would be counted.
