Lolit Solis defended Congresswoman Claudine Bautista from bashers following her fancy wedding.
The party-list representative of Drivers United for Mass Progress and Equal Rights (DUMPER) earned massive criticism after her photos from her wedding went viral.
Many were irritated and raised eyebrows at her pompous and grand wedding held in Balesin Island.
Even artists could not contain their frustration with the DUMPER Partylist representative.
Agot Isidro stressed that many can be helped and fed with the value of her gown made by Michael Cinco.
Despite the rude comments she gained, there are still a few who defended her. Host and columnist Manay Lolit Solis is one of them.
In her Instagram post with a photo of Agot, Rep. Claudine, and Enchong, she expressed her opinion on the current issue.
She said that it is very difficult to have a fancy party or anything expensive in the present situation.
The congressman was called “insensitive” because of her fancy wedding at the height of the pandemic where many drivers continue to struggle.
But according to Lolit, it is possible that Bautista and her husband had planned it for a long time and they only had the opportunity to carry it out recently.
In the later part of her post, Lolit Solis suggested that in order for many drivers to be given food, they just need to sell the wedding gown.
However, she’s wondering who will buy a second-hand wedding gown just in case.
The camp of Rep. Bautista has remained silent despite the criticisms she received.
