Former DOH Secretary Janette Garin’s Undergo COVID-19 Test
FORMER DOH SECRETARY – Iloilo’s 1st District Representative Janette Garin went through a COVID-19 test and her result was released.
The presence of the Delta variant of COVID-19 in the Philippines undeniably made the fight even tougher to win. It is currently the variant of interest because of its higher transmissibility rate.
In fact, the presence of the Delta variant urged the authorities to double the efforts in the fight against the pandemic and to stop its possible spread. In response to the situation now, the whole Metro Manila is under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) since August 6, 2021.
The ECQ in Metro Manila is set to expire on Friday and the Metro Manila Mayors will decide today whether to lift it or extend it. The vaccination continues amid the ECQ.
Several known personalities in the different fields recently contracted COVID-19. One of those who went through the coronavirus test is former DOH Secretary Janette Garin.
The former DOH Secretary who is also the representative of the 1st district of Iloilo has cough, colds, and fever. She also experiences chills. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, she tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Garin, her doctor advised her to be on home quarantine. She did not lose her sense of smell and sense of taste but she is under strict monitoring because of her tachycardic, the rapid beating of the heart.
The former Health Secretary is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in which she takes comfort from hoping that her symptoms won’t be severe despite her hypertension, asthma, and Raynaud’s Disease.
According to her, she already informed those she had contact with to be under quarantine and to watch out for signs.
Currently, the national government and the authorities continue to encourage the people to be vaccinated. They target to vaccinate at least 70 million people for population protection against COVID-19.
