Kyla allegedly replied to an article courtesy of ABS-CBN News entitled: “Inclusive or unfair? Transgender weightlifter sparks Olympic debate.”

Hubbard makes her Olympic debut in Tokyo on Monday.

She was born male and competed as a man before.

When she transitioned to become a woman, she was allowed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to join the games after meeting the guidelines.

According to IOC, she is the first openly transgender woman to compete at the Olympics.

Unfortunately, her presence in a weightlifting event generated complex issues of bioethics, human rights, science, fairness, and identity in sport.

Meanwhile, Kyla denied commenting on an article of ABS-CBN News about the transgender weightlifter.

In the comment section, she apparently noted: “That’s unethical.”

Her comment earned mixed reactions on social media particularly on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.

“Nope. I believe that’s my fanpage. I don’t usually reply, comment, or answer questions there. We hve a few admins. Baka na hack? I have to check and ask,” she wrote.

Kyla reiterated in a series of replies that she was not the one who commented on the said article.

Kyla, whose real name is Melanie Alvarez, is known in the country as the Queen of R&B.

She is also a member of the Filipino girl group DIVAS along with KZ Tandingan, Yeng Constantino, and Angeline Quinto.
