HIDILYN DIAZ – The first-ever Filipino to win a gold medal in the Olympics has received the pledged P14-million residential condominium unit in Eastwood City from Megaworld Corporation.

Diaz made history as the first-ever Filipino to bag a gold medal in the Olympics in the recently concluded women’s 55-kg weightlifting event.

The country’s pride finished with a total score of 224 kg defeating China’s Liao Qiuyun.

The 30-year-old weightlifter from Zamboanga ended the near century-long Olympic gold medal drought of the country since it competed in 1924.

Meanwhile, the pledges for the Filipina weightlifter continue to turn into actual rewards as she received her newest condominium unit on Monday, August 9.

She received a two-bedroom fully furnished unit at One Eastwood Avenue as promised by property developer Megaworld Corporation.

She also received a charcoal painting done by fine arts student John Ken Gomez at the turnover.

Because of her achievement in the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics, several businesses and public officials pledged to give her rewards.

Aside from her condo unit, she previously received the new car as promised by Ayala Foundation.

Hidilyn Diaz will also receive 10 million from the national government as mandated by law, 10 million from Manuel V. Pangilinan, 10 million from Ramon S. Ang, 3 million from Deputy Speaker Mikee Romero, 2.5 million from the local government of Zamboanga and 5 million from Dennis Uy’s Phoenix Petroleum.

She was also promised to receive lifetime free flights courtesy of AirAsia Philippines, lifetime free fuel courtesy of Phoenix Petroleum, 13-seater van courtesy of Foton Motor Philippines, 80K free miles per year, for life courtesy of Philippine Airlines, House and Lot in Tagaytay, 1 year supply of premium cheesecake milk tea from Cha Tuk Chak, 1 year free unlimited Samgyupsal courtesy of Salt & Pepper and to name a few.
