Alden was encouraging the public to get vaccinated against the coronavirus disease in the latest “Resbakuna” commercial of the Department of Health.

GMA Entertainment reported that Alden’s new commercial was led by the Department of Health in collaboration with GMA Network. In a report on GMA Network’s “24 Oras” last Thursday, Alden shared that he had a COVID-19 scare last year and so he wanted to tell everyone to protect themselves by getting vaccinated.

According to Alden, he got nervous and worried because his friend had tested positive for COVID-19. He added that they realized how important it was to get “Resbakuna” after a 10-day isolation period and got cleared of the virus.

In the said commercial, Alden said that getting the COVID-19 vaccine meant preventing severe symptoms of coronavirus disease. Alden also encouraged the public to contact their respective health centers for concerns on the disease.

Also last Thursday, the Department of Health celebrated having 10 million fully vaccinated Filipinos in the country.

According to IATF Chairperson and Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, they’ll tap more celebrities to help spread the “Resbakuna” campaign to combat the virus. Duque also said that they’ll convince more celebrities to help in their campaign so that they’ll reach the 50 percent population protection and the herd immunity target faster.

Margot Torres of the Ingat Angat initiative also said that appointing celebrities to convince other Filipinos to be vaccinated against COVID-19 served as proof that COVID-19 vaccines were safe.
