This is after she was criticized for her fancy nuptials with her husband Jose French “Tracker” Lim at the Balesin Island Club in the midst of the pandemic.

Among those who criticized her is Agot Isidro. She stressed that many can be helped and fed with the value of her gown.

In a statement, Claudine Bautista said: “This celebration of our love was a product of my husband’s hard work.”

She said she was also hurt by the outcome of her wedding due to the attacks made by netizens.

According to her, her husband has been planning their special day for years even before the pandemic.

Aside from the expensive venue, it was also revealed that the congresswoman’s wedding gown was made by fashion icon Michael Cinco. Netizens estimate that the official’s gown cost at least 700K.

But based on the report of TNT Abante, she stressed that all the aid from the Department of Social Welfare Development, Department of Health, and Department of Labor and Employment allocated to PUV drivers was distributed and not pocketed.

Here’s the official statement of Claudine Bautista:

While some are lambasting her, others including entertainment columnist and host Lolit Solis came to defend her.

She said that it is possible that Claudine Bautista and her husband had planned it for a long time and they only had the opportunity to carry it out recently.

At one point, she suggested that in order for many drivers to be given food, she just need to sell the wedding gown. However, she’s wondering who will buy a second-hand wedding gown just in case.
