Lower House suspended its session to honor late President Noynoy Aquino.

On Tuesday, the House of Representatives suspended its session in order to honor late President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, who also served as a member of the Lower House.

The Lower House honored the late President with an early suspension of its session a day after resuming its regular session.

Congressmen then stood for the singing of the national anthem and prayers before Pampanga Representative and Deputy Majority Leader Juan Pablo Bondoc declared that the session was suspended until 3:00 pm Wednesday.

In deference to the passing of former President Benigno S. Aquino, who is also a member of the House of Representatives in the 11th, 12th, and 13th Congress, the session is suspended until 3 o’clock in the afternoon, tomorrow, July 28,” Bondoc said.

It was last June 24 when late President Aquino died in his sleep due to renal disease secondary to diabetes.

During his term at the lower chamber, the late President focused on the fiscal aspect of crafting measures as he actively took part during budget deliberations.

Also, the late President became deputy speaker but he resigned from his post when he joined Liberal Party leaders in calling for the resignation of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
