Globe Telecom further expanded its VoLTE service in the Philippines.
Globe Telecom further expanded its Voice Over LTE service in the Philippines as its VoLTE service was currently available in 94% of all towns.
In a statement, Globe Chief Commercial Officer Issa Guevarra-Cabreira said that the group had been witnessing a monthly growth rate of 8% in customer adoption.
According to Cabreira, 30% of Globe’s postpaid customers were actively using VoLTE.
“We are optimistic that more customers will latch on to this new service in the coming months because it provides a great customer experience for them and once again gives them the power to choose what works best for them,” Cabreira was quoted as saying in the statement.

Globe Telecom explained that VoLTE was the standard high-speed wireless communication for mobile phones using 4G LTE instead of the traditional voice networks being used by 2G and 3G networks.
Likewise, VoLTE allowed customers to stay connected in LTE while on a call. The said feature was very useful for those who were avid gamers or fond of posting and streaming videos on the internet.
According to Cabreira, Globe Telecom was also working to cover the remaining 6% of areas in the Philippines with Voice Over LTE service.
