Hans Mortel passes away
HANS MORTEL – The stand-up comedian and former co-host of Amy Perez on Face to Face passed away today, July 14.
His sister announced his passing via a post on Facebook.
Jean Mortel Chupungco said Hans battled an unspecified illness in the hospital for three months. But he could no longer cope with the medication.
She wrote: “Gone too soon! You fought a hard battle. Thank you for giving it your all. I know you tried so hard for us. It’s ok, you fought for 3 months. We fought the battle with you.”
“And now you can rest in peace. I will be comforted by the thought that you’re with Papa and Mama Azon now. And you’re face to face with our Lord. It hurts so bad, to let you go, but you deserve to rest. Know that we love you and we always will,” she added.
Hans’ former colleague on TV5 took to Twitter to express their condolences.
His last Facebook post was a photo of his two hands with the caption: “pink or blue before going to the ICU.”
Unfortunately, there are no other details on what caused Hans’ hospitalization and death.
Hans Mortel is the discoverer of TV host-comedian Vice Ganda.
