Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on Wednesday revealed the COVID-19 test result of Davao City Vice Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte.
In a report on GMA News Online, Mayor Sara confirmed that Vice Mayor Baste had tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19). According to her, they’re checking up on each other via video call after they found out that Vice Mayor Baste got COVID-19.
“Sa ngayon, via video call muna ang family kumustahan nang malaman naming positive sa covid-19 si Vice Mayor Baste. Get well soon Vice! Smile,” Mayor Sara said.
Based on her post, Mayor Sara had a video call with her mother Elizabeth Zimmerman, father President Rodrigo Duterte, and brothers Davao City Vice Mayor Sebastian Duterte and Davao City First District Representative Paolo Duterte.

Over the weekend, Mayor Sara assured residents in Davao that local government services remained uninterrupted with the help of the Davao Vice Mayor. She then issued the statement after being criticized for her recent trips to other regions amidst the increasing cases of COVID-19 in Davao.
Davao City, according to OCTA Research Team, continued to report the highest average number of new coronavirus cases with 218 fresh coronavirus infections per day from July 14 to 20.
Also, Davao was tagged as a high-risk city because of increasing positivity rates, average daily attack rate, and utilization rate for intensive care units as well.
