US President Biden greeted the Philippines on Independence Day.
United States President Joe Biden on Saturday greeted the Philippines on Independence Day and also called on continued partnership amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
In a video message from the White House shared by the US Embassy in the Philippines, US President Biden wished the Philippines well on the latter’s Independence Day and also called for continued joint efforts amidst regional tensions and the coronavirus pandemic as well.
President Biden said that both the United States and the Philippines were marking two momentous occasions this year — the 70th anniversary of the Mutual Defense Treaty and the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
“The Philippines and United States share so much history, and our people are forever connected to our deep bonds and shared sacrifices and valor, of family, and of friendship,” President Biden said.
Happy Independence Day to our Filipino #FriendsPartnersAllies!
