Former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III had kept his health condition secret to many, according to his former spokesperson Deedee Siytangco.
On Friday, Deedee Siytangco said in an interview on GMA Network’s “Unang Hirit” that Aquino, who died of “renal disease secondary to diabetes” on Thursday morning, only disclosed the status of his health to a few people.
According to Siytangco, Noynoy didn’t want everyone to know even when he’s undergoing dialysis. Siytangco also revealed that Noynoy already had a heart procedure.
“Maski noong nagda-dialysis siya, ayaw niyang ipasabi. Actually, nagkaroon na siya ng procedure sa heart. Tapos binu-build up yung katawan niya for a possible [kidney] transplant,” Siytangco said.

According to the Aquino family, Former President Aquino had been “in and out” of hospital for medical treatment even before the coronavirus pandemic started.
Aquino’s remains were cremated on Thursday and the funeral was set on Saturday.
Former President Noynoy Aquino, the son of the late President Corazon “Cory” Aquino and slain senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., was the 15th president of the Philippines who served from year 2010 to 2016.
