Here’s the official statement of DOH and Mayor Abby Binay on failed vaccination in Makati
The Department of Health (DOH) has issued an official statement following a video of failed COVID-19 vaccination in Makati.
According to the health department, it is a clear breach of protocol.
In the video that circulated online, it appears that the healthcare worker failed to push the contents of the syringe onto the vaccine recipient.
The issue was immediately addressed and the recipient was later on vaccinated.
DOH is currently investigating the incident in coordination with the concerned LGU.
“Sinisigurado po namin na ating iimbestigahan ang pangyayaring ito upang mapabuti ang ating national vaccination program. Sa pagdating ng mas maraming bakuna sa bansa, we will continue to improve our speed, scale, and quality of service,” said Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.
Meanwhile, Makati Mayor Abby Binay also issued a statement regarding the failed vaccination.
She noted that it was a “human error on the part of the volunteer nurse.”
She also called on the netizens to move on from the issue and continue with the vaccination.
