The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) announced that Vice President Leni Robredo has completed Step 2 Registration for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).
Robredo completed the second stage of registration in Magarao, Camarines Sur.
According to PSA, Step 2 of Philippine ID registration includes getting the biometric data such as a front-facing photograph, fingerprint, and iris scans.
The vice president was able to finish the process in 12 minutes
“without technical difficulties after queuing with other local registrants.”
It was in January when Step 2 of registration started. A total of 6,378,695 registrants have completed the process as of April 30.
Meanwhile, under Step 1, among the information being gathered from the registrants are name, gender, birthplace and birth date, blood type, address, citizenship, marital status, cellphone number, and email address.
On the other hand, the last step of PhilSys registration will be the issuance of PhilSys Number (PSN) and the Philippine Identification (PhilID) card.
“The PSN is a randomly generated number and will serve as a permanent identification number for every registrant used for digital transactions,” it said.
