Harry Roque to Antonio Trillanes IV: “Libreng Mangarap”

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque on Thursday said that former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV was “free to dream” if he wanted to become the next President of the Philippines.

In his regular press briefing, Roque said that let former Senator Trillanes dream of becoming president because that was his right as a Filipino. Roque also believed that Trillanes may not be able to run for President at all since Vice President Leni Robredo’s plan to seek a higher post was “still there.”

In announcing his intent to seek the highest post of the land, the former senator said that the Filipino people will no longer be able to survive “another six years of a Duterte rule”.

Trillanes accused the Duterte administration of destroying the institutions, worsened the economy, and “promoted incompetence in public service”. However, Roque dismissed all accusations of Trillanes as pure “nonsense”.

Roque was reacting to recent reports that Trillanes declared his intent to run for the 2022 presidential race should Robredo decided not to run for President.

On the threat of a former senator that he’ll send President Duterte to jail for the killings of hundreds of people under his “war on drugs” campaign should he win in 2022, Roque dared Trillanes to file charges against President Duterte instead of merely yakking.
