Michael Cinco shows support to Nova Stevens
MICHAEL CINCO – The Pinoy fashion designer defended Miss Universe Canada 2020 Nova Stevens over racist comments from some Pinoy pageant fans.
Earlier, the 26-year-old beauty queen of African descent took to social media wherein she posted a screenshot photo of herself accompanied by racist comments from Filipino netizens.
Among the racist remarks, she received were “nognog,” “katakot,” “akala ko angkanto,” and “Tostadong tostado na nga, NASUNOG pa.”
Meanwhile, Michael Cinco, who made her evening gown for the competition, also sent Stevens his support.
“YOU are an angel and one of most humble and stunning human beings I’ve ever met…LOVE YOU @thenovastevens,” he said.
Miss Universe Organization has yet to issue any statement regarding the criticisms earned by Nova Stevens.
The 26-year-old Canadian beauty queen of African descent is one of the 74 candidates of the highly anticipated Miss Universe 2020.
Nova Stevens from Canada and Philippines’ Rabiya Mateo will compete in the grand coronation night this coming May 16, 2021 (May 17 in the Philippines) at Seminole Hard Rock & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
