Kean Cipriano talked about his first solo album.
Singer Kean Cipriano talked about his first solo album “Childlike” after more than 15 years of being the frontman of his band Callalily.
Kean was proud to launch his first solo album last May 14 under his own record label OC Records.
He admitted during the “Childlike” album listening party event last May 12 that the said project was actually three years in the making. Despite the long wait, he believed that the timing of the album’s release was still right even during a coronavirus pandemic.
According to him, he released a few singles on the record label but sometimes he really forget to take care of himself considering that OC Records was also owned by him.
Kean also shared that he had written a lot of songs during the pandemic, adding that he can release another album with the songs that had been made “kahit in two months”.

He also shared that he enjoyed being able to release his album and then he’ll immediately proceed with the new material. Having composed 6 out of 9 tracks in his album, Kean said that the album was like he’s starting out as a new artist.
Kean was also proud of having total creative control with his first solo effort. According to him, he really wanted to make music that he liked and will be proud of.
Having produced his album by himself, the 33-year-old artist said that it’s a challenge for him to finish his album while the Philippines was still in lockdown.
“Mahirap siya honestly. Kasin ga nagpapasahan na lang kayo ng files. Wala kayo sa isang room to create. Madalas doon nangyayari yung magic di ba? So yun yung pinaka challenge niya dahil hindi mo sila nakikita face to face. Pero dahil nga lahat ay nag-a-adapt sa bago nating mundo, nagawa siya. Yung ibang tracks dito na-record na prior to the pandemic. Lalo na yung ibang tracks na na-release na din before. Pero yung iba talagang pasahan ng files. Kaya okay din. Kumbaga may bragging rights na na-record na ito na ito yung sitwasyon natin, parang ganun,” Kean said.
