#DoctorFosterPH — Actress Jodi Sta. Maria gave her reaction when she got the call offering her the lead role in the Philippine adaptation of “Doctor Foster”.

On Friday, Jodi was introduced as the lead cast of ABS-CBN’s adaptation of BBC Studios’ drama series, titled “The Broken Marriage Vow”.

Jodi will be joined by Sue Ramirez, Zanjoe Marudo, and Zaijan Jaranilla in the psychological drama series about a married couple whose family was rocked by the husband’s affair.

In the ABS-CBN version, the wife (portrayed by Jodi) was named “Jill Ilustre”, a community doctor.

Describing her character, Jodi said that Jill was a mom, a wife, intelligent, empowered, and her love language was being of service to those around her.

Recalling getting news of her casting in the said project, Jodi shared that she got a call from her manager telling her that the role of Dr. Foster was being offered to her.

I got a call from my manager telling me that the role of Dr. Foster is being offered to me. I was like, ‘Joke ba ‘to? Is this real?’ Hindi ako makapaniwala. And now, we’re doing a Philippine adaptation, and the role was offered to me. Napaka-surreal ng moment na ‘yon,” Jodi shared.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Dreamscape Entertainment production was the sixth international adaptation of “Doctor Foster”, following its versions in India, Russia, France, Turkey, and South Korea.

Jodi also admitted that she felt a lot of pressure, adding that “the pressure is real!”

Helming “The Broken Marriage Vow” was award-winning director Concepcion Macatuno, whose recent movies include “Malaya” (2020) and “Glorious” (2018).

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the premiere date of the said series has yet to be announced.
